Ocean Park Crocoland
In 2023, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department captured a wild crocodile in Pat Heung, Yuen Long. After the Hong Kong government handed it over to Ocean Park, the park decided to convert the goldfish exhibition hall outside the ticket office into a crocodile pavilion, named “Crocodile Garden,” and open it to the public for free. Ocean Park then publicly tendered the related project, and our company was fortunate to win the bid, taking responsibility for the entire renovation works.

• Providing all building plan submission documents and related files;
• Reconstructing the on-site pavilion waterproof layer;
• Newly designing and installing the crocodile water supply system;
• Handling the drawing, modeling, and production of the on-site pavilion crocodile sculpture;

Project Challenges and Innovative Solutions
The most challenging aspect of the project was creating a lifelike crocodile sculpture. We aimed for the sculpture to depict the crocodile with its mouth wide open, as a closed-mouth version tends to lack vitality. However, this raised a safety concern: the area is an open space where children might come into contact with the sculpture's teeth. Designing the teeth to be flat and rounded would compromise realism. In the end, we opted for the realistic approach and innovatively added harmless silicone teeth to the crocodile sculpture, ensuring safety while preserving a high degree of authenticity.
